Port capabilities not reported - CableIQ

CableIQ gets its link information from the FLP (fast link pulse) negotiation information. In almost all cases, people leave hubs to auto negotiate, and this is not an issue.

A hub/switch will not advertise its capabilities (speed and duplex) if auto negotiating is turned off.

For example, turning it off and forcing it to 10BASE-T operation causes the ports to output single LTPs with no additional information encoded within them. If you force it to 100BASE-T, a 100MBit carrier comes out, again with no encoded information.

If there's no information encoded in the ports output, we can't tell what the hub will do.
