Reference values for CertiFiber Pro

If your reference values fail to meet the expected power stated below, you should inspect the output ports as well as your test reference cords using a video microscope such as the FI-1000; an optional probe for your CertiFiber Pro.

  • ≥ -24 dBm with 50/125 µm EF-TRCs @ 850 nm/1300 nm
  • ≥ -21 dBm with 62.5/125 µm EF-TRCs @ 850 nm/1300 nm
  • ≥ -4 dBm with 9/125 µm TRCs @ 1310 nm/1550 nm

Where -24 dBm is better than -25 dBm.

If your reference values are within expectation, your test reference cords could still be poor. Verifying your test reference cords is a separate procedure. For SC, LC, ST and FC duplex links, use the RUN WIZARD in the CertiFiber Pro. This will walk you through the reference procedure including the all-important step of verifying the test reference cords. The following articles also describe this TRC check process:
