Testing Cisco LRE (Long reach Ethernet) with the OMNIScanner

The last OMNIScanner left the factory back in July 2005. We regret to say service and support ended July 2009. It's replaced by the Versiv familly of testers.

Cisco Long reach Ethernet (LRE) is an application designed by Cisco using their equipment to provide High Speed connections over distances that exceed the normal Ethernet limitation of 90 meters. Ciscos LRE is designed to work on Category 1 3 cabling. Fluke Networks has worked with Cisco to develop testing to allow the installer determine the Level Of Service for the existing or new installation. For more information on Ciscos LRE, visit Cisco at www.cisco.com.

LRE is available in 5Mbit, 10Mbit and 15Mbit solutions. Please not that for 1-pair testing, only Attenuation is possible. Values found within the OMNIScanner have been defined by Cisco.
