How do I export Scanlink data to a text file?

This article explains how to get Scanlink data into a format that is readable by any text editor (i.e. Notepad).

  • Open Scanlink Upload Utility
  • Click on the Open icon and select the file that you want to export to text.

  •  Once the file is open in Scanlink, click on the Print icon.

  • The Print Autotest window will come up.

  • Select Certification Report (plain text) and either Print all or Print selected.
  • Click OK
  • The Print window will come up.

  • You will see a check box labeled Print to file. Make sure that the box is checked.
  • Click OK.
  • The Print To File window will come up.

  • You can select the destination of the file (the default is the Scanlink directory on your hard drive).
  • Name the file (with Scanlink 6 and higher, it is a 32 bit application and supports long file names).
  • You can select between .RPT (Report) or .TXT (text) as the format of the file.
  • Once you have made your selection, click Save.
  • Scanlink will save the file and then default back to the main Scanlink screen.
