Inspecting a fiber panel without removing the connectors - FiberInspector Mini

Most fiber installers continue to believe they have to remove the connector from the fiber panel to inspect it. This practice is dangerous as the risk of damaging other connectors in the fiber panel is very high. It is also labor intensive compared to the alternative of using a FiberInspector Mini with a bulkhead adapter.

Below is a Fluke Corporation IT person onsite in a remote part of the world installing new fiber switches for us.
He is able to verify the ports are clean before connecting his fiber patch cords. NEVER assume the ports are clean - as he discovered. In this example, removing the connectors to inspect them is fraught with danger. He is seen here using the Fluke Networks Fiber Optic Cleaning Kit, which is better than using 99% IPA.
